FAQ Specific to Small Acreage

Straight answers for landowners who want agricultural valuation without becoming beekeepers.

How many hives do I actually need?
For a 5–10 acre property: 6 hives is usually recommended for agricultural valuation. For 10–20 acres: 8–12 hives. It depends on sunlight, soil, and appraisal district requirements. We assess during the visit.
Will hives be visible from the road?
We place hives strategically-usually in a low-traffic corner or behind a tree line. Most neighbors won't even notice.
What if I have neighbors nearby?
Honeybees are gentle and don't travel far. Hives placed 50+ feet from property lines are typically no issue. We also provide a courtesy letter for neighbors.
Can I do the assessment before committing?
Yes. The site assessment is a no-obligation consultation. You get a proposal; you decide if you want to proceed.
What if I move or sell?
We can relocate hives or transition management to the new owner. Let us know early if you're planning a move.
Do I pay all $1,000+ upfront?
No. Typically a small deposit to book the assessment, then the management fee is invoiced seasonally or annually. We'll discuss terms in the proposal.
